Though Magnolia has great ambience (note the large tree in the middle of the patio and the ton of tealights strewned about), it's more a bar than a dining experience. Don’t expect a large food selection — the majority of the menu is drinks and tapas. The lounge opened in 1926 as the first speakeasy in Pasadena. Trendy and small, it’s a good place to chat up your neighbor while enjoying a smattering of appetizers.
