LACC might not be as pretty as Santa Monica City College, but the East Hollywood school has a number of bars within strolling distance. Just because you don’t share a dorm with your classmates doesn’t mean you can’t still drink with them.

Pure Luck
For those who hop on their bikes and ride to school, this is your bar. The vegan restaurant and drinkery is located behind LACC’s baseball field and across from the Bicycle Kitchen, so it’s a second home to the L.A. bike community. Sample the faux-carnitas tacos made with jackfruit while sipping a $4 microbrew, then bike off your lunch on the trip to your next class.

Little Temple
After class, LACC kids can get loose on the red-lit dance floor at nearby Little Temple, which houses two rooms of music with some of the best hip-hop jams on the Eastside. Bring along your buds to check out the underground soul bands that regularly get funky among the crowd of movers and shakers.

Smog Cutter
Students often blow off steam after finals with a few rounds of pool at this low-key locale. Still feeling tense? Join the Hollywood eclectic mix in some drunken-fueled karaoke and shake the teeny tiny dive’s walls.
