The
ever-classy
Tower Bar—whose owner, Jeff Klein, caused a stir by telling Vanity Fair he didn't want Lindsay Lohan
coming in for his $16 cosmos—has added a new drink to its menu of classic
cocktails: the IZZEWasser. The drink honors celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, who made tabloid headlines when she dropped the Britney Spears case.
Mixologist
Michael Rubenstone created the cocktail, which is a satisfying concoction of
Trago tequila,
Chambord, fresh blueberries and
raspberries, lime juice, and blackberry IZZE. The idea for the cocktail
itself came from Matti Leshem of Protagonist, the company hired by IZZE to
turn more adults onto the soda, er, sparkling juice.
Leshem
chose Wasser as the inspiration for IZZE’s first signature cocktail because she
fit a list of criteria: good at her job, bubbly, fun, energetic. “She
embodied all the elements of the drink,” says Leshem, who also noted at the launch party, attended by TMZ's Harvey Levin, that “Laura
gets better with tequila.”
Only
in
L.A., right? Not quite. This cocktail is part of a nationwide program honoring “thought leaders”
across the country. Next stop is
New
York, where fashion photographer Pamela Hanson will
get her own libation. “Everyone we chose is someone we know personally,” says
Leshem. ”We travel in wide circles because we’re fabulous.”
