WARNING: DOUCHERS

I give this place a VERY SOLID one star.

BEST beer-battered-fried-garbage in town.
The WORST of poseur skanks, some of whom are hot, but not when puking on each other. (try hooking up with that)

If you are a dude and headed to South, you're basically stating to all one of three things:

1. I am pretty sure that dressing like a douchebag and doin' shots with my bros is TOTALLY awesome,
2. I am a moron for buying into the idea that this place is anything other than a Mickey Mouse attempt at a "southern" bar experience,
3. I'm pretty smart, thought this was a hot spot, got punk'd, and I'm heading the f- out, fast.

If you are a hot girl and not of the "poseur skank" kind, you are FAR more likely to find better quality elsewhere.

If you're not a sports fan, there to watch a SPECIFIC game, spend your night elsewhere . . . Unless of course your bros know you as "Dr. Doucher", and you don't mind owning up to it.

I'm a huge fan of the scene, but not this one.

One-star tool box.

Southern Hospitality

South is one of my favorite bars in LA. The food is great, drinks are superb, and the service is A+. I recommend the Canal Street Jambalaya as well as the Chicken N Waffle Sliders. For drinks, I like getting the Dirty South Martini, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake, or when I am with a group of friends, The World Famous Voodoo Brew. The staff is very friendly and are always around when you need them. This bar truly has that southern vibe and hospitality. I recommend it for anyone looking to try something new.

Goin South!!

All I have to say is It's about time Santa Monica got a new bar that lives up to it's name. South has such an amazing atmosphere from the decor to the patrons and the staff is super friendly. Hands down the best cajun/southern food this town has to offer. And at night it's the place to be to mingle with the crowd and dance around to great music. All in all, if you wantt to have a great time with friends or meet new ones, go to South!
