Just like New York City, Hollywood now has lofts, a metro station and a formidable amount of foot traffic. The only significant element missing is Central Park. However, we might have something better: Central, Shereen Arazm’s new ultra-lounge that was designed as a companion to her restaurant Parc around the corner.

As at Parc, which has a Swarovski crystal–lit tree in the dining room, interior designer Tracie Butler has outfitted the space to look like an artistic interpretation of a real park. The entire space is blanketed in earth tones and has a lodge-like feel. There are columns made of walnut wood; the walls and ceiling are covered with organic grass cloths; and the wooden bar was hand-carved. And that’s not all. There’s a glass-enclosed DJ booth on the mezzanine that was inspired by a treehouse, and tiny light bulbs hang from the ceiling like stars. The most stunning visual, however, is the light box that displays petrified branches.

It’s a fitting design scheme for this "green" era, but there’s nothing granola about this place. On a recent Saturday night, the place was packed with a black-clad Hollywood crowd, thanks to Arazm’s partner, Pantera Sarah, infamous for attracting power players and celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Justin Timberlake. The DJ played hip-hop and ‘80s, not the Grateful Dead, and the stiletto-heeled put their feet to rest on the distressed leather couches.

Though, you know the truly trendy arrived in Prius cars.

Attention eaters: Parc serves tasting platters of expensive goodies like caviar and oysters to accompany bottle service.

Attention smokers: There’s a tiny smoking patio in the front that looks into the lounge, so you never have to really leave the crowd inside.

Attention celeb stalkers: Ashlee Simpson and Demi Moore heart Central.
