The bar is stocked and the food delightful at Mission Cantina NYC Italian meets California Mexican Booth babes Is this what they mean by top-shelf liquor?

Like a prayer, Mission Cantina will take you there; well, if you’re talking about a place where the specialty tequila runs freely and the mojitos come in flavors like strawberry-guava. From the owner of Bowery and Delancey comes this vintage, church-style watering hole. You enter through wrought iron gates into a holy sanctuary with a salvaged chandelier, stained-glass windows, Mexican paintings and an alter, where worship is usually aimed towards the almighty agave plant instead of the Virgin Mary. Their specialty margaritas come in flavors like grapefruit-lavender and fresh apricot, but  if you’re feeling especially daring, try the Jalapeno Martini for that extra spicy bite. An upgraded lunch menu includes chicken mole and smoked pork tacos starting at noon, so head over after weekday church services. Thank heaven for tequila bars!
