Sean Patrick and Mikiala

Meet Sean Patrick and Mikiala. He’s a veteran DJ who’s presided over music programs from Tropicana Bar to Social Hollywood. But his true passion is merging nightlife with art in an underground scene, which he’s done at Temporary Spaces. Mikiala is a gorgeous blonde whose down-to-earth, sober demeanor at parties plays against type. Together, they’re two of the hottest DJs in town, both with major street cred.

What’s your default romantic date spot?
Mikiala: The garden at Yamashiro is romantic.

Sean Patrick: Or Café Stella on a slow night.

And how did you meet?
Mikiala: We met at Les Deux (the original one!) five years ago. Sean DJ’d Monday nights.

What did you do for your first date?
Sean Patrick: We went for a movie then Paru’s for Indian food.

Mikiala: He happened to pick my favorite Indian restaurant.

First kiss? 
Sean Patrick: It was at the end of our date.

Mikiala: I love that you remember.

Who has the bigger record collection?
Mikiala: Sean by far. He has been DJing 20 years, whereas I’ve been DJing for three.

Sean Patrick: What might be surprising to many is that I have the entire Wax Trax catalog on vinyl, including many test pressings.

What song or album best defines your relationship?
