Ritual drinking

We've all heard the Aesop's fable enough times to know the hare is no match for the tortoise, and Brennan’s is all about the shelled sprinters. Turtle racing wasn't invented in Marina Del Rey, nor does the tradition show up much in Irish history, but this weekly event has thrived at this Westside pub since the '70s. The rules haven't changed much: no pointing or screaming at the turtles. Or the women. If nothing else, it's a great opportunity to bring your pet turtle to the bar, something that will just get you kicked out of most other places. Those who don’t have a turtle can rent one for the evening.
