Cupid's Cocktail @ West
Enough alcohol might make anyone look hot, hence the saying that a “2 at 10 p.m.” magically morphs into a “10 by 2 a.m.” But with these specialty cocktails for Valentine’s Day, it’s also the aphrodisiacs (real and imagined) that get the libido going. Don’t worry: These flirty drinks don’t smell like turpentine or look like India ink, as the famous song goes.—Alexandra Le Tellier and Katie Bain
With basil, pineapple, vodka and the aphrodisiac ginger, (a root that even gets a shout out in the Kama Sutra) sipping Cupid's Cocktail at West is just like being shot by the winged one's arrow, minus the puncture wound.
1.5 ounces Grey Goose vodka infused with vanilla bean
.5 ounces fresh lime juice
.5 ounces ginger root reduction
1 dash pineapple juice
Fresh muddled basil
Muddle mint leaves in a pint glass. Add ice and add the rest of the ingredients. Shake well and garnish with basil leaf.
