Hollywood's nightlight scene generally caters to gussied-up clubbers, but the Spotlight keeps it real—scary real. Open since the '40s, this barebones spot has always been a safe haven for neighborhood gays and the occasional tranny; in recent years, it's also started attracting straight hipsters with an arty, edgy vibe.
