'4-4-4-4 Stress-Free Happy Hour' at Suede Bar & Lounge
- Suede Bar & Lounge - Westin Bonaventure Hotel lobby, #102 - 404 S. Figueroa St. - Downtown
What’s there to stress about with Suede Bar’s happy hour? In fact, all you have to remember is the number ‘4’ because that’s all it costs to duck out of some heavy downtown bumper to bumper traffic; well drinks, wine and draft beers are all priced at just four bucks. What's more: the hummus/pita/cheese/fruit platters are free from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at which time sushi and tempura are available from the upstairs restaurant for $4 an order until 8 p.m. So loosen up that tie, sit back on the lush couches and chill out with a cold cocktail because the sounds of screeching brakes and honking horns are the last things you’ll hear at this posh ultra-lounge.
Poolside Happy Hour at Blue Velvet
- Blue Velvet - 750 Garland Ave. - Los Angeles
Ever heard of a happy hour that comes with a massage? Leave it to Blue Velvet to come up with your new favorite place to escape after your nine-to-five. Unwind after a hard day's work at their poolside happy hour which includes $5 premium well drinks, draught beer and wine, in addition to $1 per minute massages as well as half-off bar appetizers. This event is so heavenly, you’ll never want to leave.
Happy Hour at Royal Clayton's
- Royal Claytons Restaurant - 1855 Industrial St. - Los Angeles
There’s nothing like noshing on greasy bar food with a cold glass of beer to wind down from a busy workday, especially when it’s easy on the pocket book. At Royal Claytons', you can grub on $5 appetizers like fried calamari, onion rings or hot wings as well as $7 pizza (your choice of tomato basil or pepperoni). Wash it down with $2-$4 beers and, for those maxin’ and relaxin’ awhile, bloody Marys and margaritas are $7.
35-cent martinis at The Edison
- The Edison - 108 W. 2nd St. #101 - Downtown
To help celebrate the first annual Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival in Downtown L.A., The Edison is turning back the clocks for a drink deal to end all drink deals. Every Thursday, The Edison's signature "1910 Martinis" are only 35 cents each (that's two bits and a dime, to all you old-timers). The Miller's gin martinis are created by one of their mixologists and different each week, but one thing's certain, they will get you tipsy before you've accrued a one-dollar tab. Consider us there!
Happy Hour at the BBC
- Bonaventure Brewing Co. - Westin Bonaventure Hotel, 4th floor - 404 S. Figueroa St., Suite 417A - Downtown
How's this for a mouthful: A happy hour at the BBC at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. Confused yet? Don't be: just get yourself to the pool deck of the Bonaventure Hotel between Mondays and Fridays for food specials, including $1.99 hot wings and lobster bisque, $2.99 buffalo chicken tenders, and $3.99 beer-battered calamari.
'Big Bites' and 'Baby Bites' at Ciudad
- Ciudad - Union Bank Plaza - 445 S. Figueroa St. - Downtown
Downtown staple Ciudad offers an extended happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Mon.-Fri. that will make you want to tell your boss that you have to leave early to go visit the dentist. You get two tacos for $4 during happy hour, perfect for any size appetite. And the mojitos, margaritas, beer, sangria and house red and white wines are also cheap, ringing in a $4 a pop.
Happy Hour at 626 Reserve
- 626 Reserve - 626 S. Spring St. - Downtown
A swig of vino can be the perfect celebratory act or remedial therapy. Whichever you're in need of most this week, enjoy the international array of wine that 626 has to offer. (The $2-off happy hour discount doesn’t hurt either.)
Happy Hour at La Cita
- La Cita - 336 S. HIll St. - Downtown
When La Cita is poppin’ off with their weekly dance parties like Dance Right on Thursday nights or their Punky Reggae night on Friday, this downtown bar turns into a mild-mannered hangout. Take advantage of their weekday drink specials from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. like $2 domestic and $3 import beers, and don’t forget to ask about their reduced cocktail specials. That’s 10 hours of boozing on the cheap. Just don’t quit your day job.
