Bollywood and Wonderland collide
Bollywood + Rabbit Holes = Peyote Hangover (Credit: Blue 13)
The last time you went down the rabbit hole, you probably woke up with a tequila shot mug, Sharpie drawings on your forehead, and a solemn wish that the Queen of Hearts would remove your head.

The Blue13 dance troupe is offering a friendlier mind scramble with their Bollywood take on Alice’s famed descent into Wonderland in “Paheliyan: The Story of Alice.” FYI, Bollywood dance combines traditional Indian dance forms with modern experimental choreography. And they aren’t kidding, having just recently tackled Shakespeare and Oz. With their own director Achinta S. McDaniel playing the Queen of Hearts, there’s no question the talking playing cards, cheshire cat and mad hatter will be outfitted by similar talent.

So scrounge the closet for your best blue jumper, grab a tart for the ride and set your iPod to Jefferson Airplane. Please advise if you wake up the next morning peyote-goggled in front of your mirror wondering why your deck of cards has naked ladies on it, check your bar tab and invite me next time.

When: August 24-25, 8 p.m.

Where: Ford Amphitheatre

How much: Tickets are $32, $26, but only $5 for full-time students and children. Go to http://www.blue13dance.com or call (888) 464-2468
