What: Eric Idle, the Monty Python alum and all-around comedic genius, debuted a one-hour musical satire of his own film Life of Brian last year. Now he’s bringing it to the Hollywood Bowl for a weekend of British absurdity. Expect a full choir, the L.A. Philharmonic orchestra and some bagpipes. Technically, the show is an oratorio, but Idle says the series of comedic ditties about a mistaken messiah is part “baroque and roll” and part “apocalypso now.”
Why: They may drag a sheep onstage too. And there will be fireworks.
