"I like to shoot people."

If a person is to be judged, let it not be by their Myspace headline. Katrina Leigh Umber (based out of sunny South Pasadena) is not a foaming-mouthed sociopath but, rather, quite a lovely photographer. Her "Goodness Gracious" series, now on display at Show Cave, offers sad, candid glimpses of the delicate agony of being a teenager marooned on the plains of the American landscape. Golden fields, thick skies and constellations of freckles offer a vast stillness, while her self-conscious, pubescent subjects achingly remind of the bridge between being a child and a humorless adult. Good stuff.

If you missed the opening, fret not: Show Cave hosts a closing reception on July 28th. This way, you won't be forced to stalk her work on Myspace.

When: July 28, 7p.m.

Where: Showcave, 1218 1/2 Temple St., Los Angeles, CA

Why: Just because you missed the opening, doesn't mean you missed the show, peeps!
