“Are you going to kick me in the buttocks?” The inquiry is a natural one when it's suddenly suggested that you get on all fours in a public space. But at Machine Project, a workshop/gallery in Echo Park, fear not the booty goose: simply kneel down and press your face to the battered floorboards, peering through (their words) "a stabilized rift in the time space continuum” and into a secret gallery below the slats. No, we won't tell you what wonders await. That'd be spoiling it.

Where:  1200-D North Alvarado Street, Echo Park
When:   Hours vary: http://www.machineproject.com/
Why:     Because curiosity should always be indulged.
