The lovely Ms. Hedren
What: The third annual Jules Verne Film Festival pays tribute to the late French sci-fi author with a series of screenings at the creeptastically gorgeous Edison Bar, a hollowed-out boiler room turned anachronistic watering hole turned noteworthy event space. Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds screens with star and Hollywood legend/Melanie Griffith’s mom Tippi Hedren on hand to host.
Why: Watching a classic movie with its ingénue in the room doesn't happen every day. Luckily, neither does getting pecked in the face by a bird.
Be an icy blonde at it: The Edison, 108 W. 2nd St., Downtown; 6 p.m.; $20
Monday, September 15: Hip Hop Ya Don't Stop! J.A.M Session at the Ford»
