Wednesday, October 1: ‘Art for Hope’ at Merry Karnowsky

Take a break from YouTubing the presidential debates to check out the Merry Karnowsky Gallery’s one-night Art for Hope show, which benefits the Obama Victory Fund. Nobly donate $25 at the door, and then gawk at work by Mark Ryden, the Clayton brothers, Mercedes Helnwein, Seonna Hong and others while you get your Wednesday night drink on, nosh on munchies and await the revelation of a secret DJ. Ryden’s limited-edition litho “The Pumpkin President” is already sold out, but in a gesture of democracy, anyone can fork over some dough for a raffle ticket to win a print by the ever-lovely Camille Rose Garcia.

Merry Karnowsky Gallery, 170 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angles; 7 p.m.-10 p.m.; $25 donation

Thursday, October 2: Executive Order Karaoke at MOCA»
