The story goes that Duncan Trussell, a delightfully deranged L.A. comedian, proclaimed comedy to be dead after watching an episode of “Last Comic Standing.” Doing his best to resurrect intelligent wit, he started a monthly evening of stand-up for those with discerning palates. Shuffle through a field of gleaming tombstones and into the Hollywood Forever Cemetery’s Masonic Lodge to hear live sets by living, breathing human beings such as “Curb Your Enthusiasm’s” Jeff Garlin, the always-lovely Natasha Leggero, “Mad TV’s” Bobby Lee, Laura Silverman from “The Sarah Silverman Program” and Jimmy Dore from Comedy Central. Mourn not for comedy: It hath risen.
