This multi-purpose, non-profit space is as much an art gallery as it is live music venue, located deep in Echo Park behind a strip mall between the Beauty Force Salon and Praise Chapel. Actually, they claim to be in historic Filipinotown, which even many native Los Angelenos don't know exists. Once you find the door behind the palm tree at the back of the Glen Village parking lot, you'll discover an inviting, cozy space that feels more like someone's comfy finished rec room. Uber-cool acts like Dan Deacon and Katie The Pest (who passed out vegan chocolate-chip cookies after their show) have played there, while artists like Billy Sprague and Vasanti Lackner show off their latest visual works on the walls. It's a strictly BYOB affair, but you'll want to keep in on the low as it's an all-ages spot. Easily one of our favorite places to hang out around town.
