Dear H&B,
I went to a stripper bar recently and ended up talking with a dancer. I know they want your money, but she seemed to really like me. We had common interests, are both 23, and she ended up giving me her number. She's hot and has aspirations other than stripping, or so she says. Do I pursue this? Or am I going to get used? How do I know if she's a real person?

Dear MH,
I’ve got news for you: Strippers are people too. Sometimes they’re duplicitous, flaky half-wits (with great bodies); sometimes they’re smart, caring, upstanding citizens (with great bodies). In other words, they’re just like the people who keep their clothes on at work (usually minus the great-body part, but not always).
I have no idea who this lady is or what her intentions are (or yours, really), but having a bit of experience in this, I can tell you that you’d better be able to deal with your exotic honey getting plenty of male attention, on- and offstage. It’s also hard to predict what will happen once real feelings kick in, beyond whatever fantastically tawdry thrill you may get out of dating a princess of the pole. And please don’t go into this trying to “save” the gal—she may be utterly sincere about you and also love what she does. One last tip: Don’t hang around her place of employment. If you want to see her, keep your dating to a non-sex-industry environment.
Dying to get some? (Sex advice, that is.)
