Party at the pad: live like a rock star at home

The next time a great-uncle passes on and leaves you a bundle, do the right thing. Instead of blowing it on dollar-draining trips hither and yon, invest in your own nest. Even your most pedestrian one-bedroom apartment becomes a mack pad supreme when outfitted with the amazingly modular Do Lo Res couch by designer Ron Arad, a Lunatic Construction Sans coffee table, a couple of the “Perspective” chairs designed by Pharrell Williams with Domeau & Pérés, and an Acutus Reference turntable. Grab the new 200-gram vinyl reissues of Bjork albums “Debut” and “Post” to spin on them. Soon enough, your dating schedule will only be interrupted by interior-design-magazine photo shoots.

We’re partial to the monstrous 65-inch Panasonic 1080p flat-screen plasma HDTV, with a picture so crystal-clear that it’s easy to fall in love with Summer Roberts all over again when you get all nostalgic for ’03 and bust out “The OC” DVD box set. Even timeworn reruns of “Law & Order: SVU” take on new life as Mariska Hargitay practically leaps out of the screen chasing down perverted perps.

We say dig a little deeper when you raid Rocket Video. There are a couple of girl-powered coming-of-age flicks that will more than hit the spot with a bevy of beers from Cap N’ Cork and a couple of pies to-go from Nicky D’s on your way home back from the store.

See Kristy McNichol and Tatum O’Neal as girls from the opposite side of the tracks racing to lose their virginity at summer camp in “Little Darlings” (1980).

For the ultimate double feature, pair it with “Foxes,” another 1980 offering; this one stars Jodie Foster and Cherie Currie (lead singer of pioneering female rockers the Runaways) as wanton youth making sense of adolescence on the mean streets of L.A. Prepare for maximum brain-meltage.

If you have a more New York state of mind, mix in “Times Square” (also 1980), starring Tim Curry as the cool radio DJ inspiration for a pair of NYC punk girls set to a soundtrack featuring the Pretenders and Talking Heads.

For the freshest in comfortable loungewear that can also rock the clubs, look no further than the Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club label. Slip into an ensemble of Ice Cream hoodie, BBC shorts and deck shoes, and chill with the best of them. Aaaaah. Hit the Bape store on Melrose and DASH in Calabasas for limited-edition lines.

When it’s time to move your body, fire up the Nintendo Wii and plug in a copy of “Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Game,” which brings the most ridiculous arcade game ever to your living room. Once they figure out how to hot-wire the thing to play tracks from M.I.A.’s “Kala,” it could give “Guitar Hero” and “Rock Band” a run for the money. And instead of debating between the two, just get both and have the ultimate showdown with your friends. (Loser takes home the lamer system.)

By then, your biggest worry will be the growing line (and the mysterious velvet rope and bouncer) that’s’ sure to appear outside your door…
