Juanita's Mexican Cafe
E-20 Olvera St. - Los AngelesLooking for quick, authentic food on the cheap? A mere $2.10 buys the cafe's specialty: two taquitos and a side of the house guacamole sauce. If you want more than a fast bite, the combo plates with beans and salad will run you a very reasonable $5.
Lupe's Candy Shop
C-24 Olvera St. - Los AngelesLupe has enough candy to satisfy your mid-shopping sweet tooth, along with an array of cookies and cakes. Most of the treats hail from south of the border, so you'll find Mexican goodies such as tamarindos, rollos de coco and jamoncillo (milk fudge).
Myrosa Enterprises
E-14 Olvera St. - Los AngelesThere are plenty of shops on Olvera Street that house any number of souvenirs, religious items and Day of the Dead keepsakes, but Myrosa sticks out for its sheer variety. From mini maracas and wooden marionettes to luchador masks, you can find a gift for anyone, including yourself.
Murillo Leather
W-6 Olvera St. - Los AngelesDon't be surprised if you walk into Murillo Leather and see the owner, a second-generation leather artisan, working a piece of uncut cowhide. With purses, belts, cuffs, cowboy hats and saddles, this 40-year-old shop has high-quality, handcrafted goods you won't find in department stores.
Olvera Candle Shop
