I was at the club the Friday after Thanksgiving 2008. One thing this place has going for it is its view of the surrounding downtown view, especially at night time. Dance floor is too small, but you do get a good dance workout from the retro-techno type music -- not really my taste in music for a club scene. More up-to-date music everyone can relate to would be ideal. Would I go back? I would if there was more variety of music. If I go back for my birthday, there'll have to be music from the 90's to date...definitely. Would I recommend this club to others? I probably would, again, if the music was more attractive at best. I liked the set up of the place, however, too may seating areas were reserved which made finding somewhere to sit a littel more problematic for my taste. And we were there for a good while, and whomever that area was reserved for, they never showed up. The club is more suited for the 20's to early 30's crowd, in my opinion -- not generally for an older crowd looking for a good club scene for the night. With a few minor adjustments to the DJ's music selection, I think I may go back.

I actually liked the venue. Ive never had problems with the security guards or the crowd. The bands were great and the djs were cool too.

Robin14 wrote about Marie Callender's

This Marie Callender's has gone down hill. It used to be good. The corn bread, chili, soups, baked goods (especially the pies). The last six times (and never again) have been a waste of my time and money. The service is really bad - from the reception to the servers - they seem to be in a different world - not this one. The corn bread was hard and cold. The salad bar was one of the most poorly maintained, least appetizing one I've been to. Brown and pink (yes, pink) lettuce just doesn't work for me. Waiting for 20 minutes to place an order, and being forced to sit and wait for the bill for another 30 minutes (the server disappeared) is a joke. Be wise and spend your money elsewhere, just don't waste it here.

Your classic puffy taco - done right. The prices are good, they smile while taking your money and smile when they give you your food. The tacos are excellent.

Been here many times - it can be a hit-or-miss. When the place is half full, it can also be extremely noisy. Very clean and staff tries to be helpful. Prices are a little high for a burger. The fries are good, and they are unlimited. The only problem is trying to get your server's attention in order to get a refill - good luck. The last time I was here I ordered two ice cream cones "to go" - we were watching the car show outside. When they gave the cones to me, it was embarrassing - two cones completely different sizes. I looked at them and thought it was a joke. I had to decide which of my two kids got the smaller one. Just not right.

Robin14 wrote about Polly's Pies - Whittier

I've been coming to this restaurant before it was even called Polly's Pies (it used to be "House of Pies"). Any pie I've ever tried is excellent - the crust is the best crust of any pie I've ever eaten (except my mom's, of course). Salads are very fresh and tasty, with fresh-baked dinner rolls or cornbread. The back-burner or chicken willd-rice soups are excellent. The strawberry lemonade is insanely good. From chicken to burgers to sandwich/salad combos - all very good. Breakfasts are really, really tasty. Fresh coffee, pancakes, waffles - you name it. Very good service, always a smile, and you can bring home fresh-baked goodies! Prices are fair, some things seem a little high, but there is always something for everyone. Parking can sometimes be crowded, and at peak times, you may have to wait a while for a table - but the rocking chairs in front make it comfortable while waiting.

Elements Salon rocks because Brock, my stylist, works there! He is so awesome with his colors and styles. I always feel like a movie star when I leave there. The salon has a great supply of beauty products and is great at assisting with the right products for each individual. Once again, Brock you rock!

I just bought my NYE tickets to Wonderland online at Pixnation (www.pixnation.com). I’m new to the area and am excited to check out this place for NYE! After researching all the different NYE ticket sites, I found their site has the lowest service fees by far. It definitely helped my thin wallet!

tdh9663 wrote about Kaldi Coffee & Tea

Kaldi has an "art" display featured prominently in the otherwise cute cafe made of pelts of rabbits. It's bad enough that department stores still sell, and people buy furs, but in an atmosphere such as this - a non-pretentious, local coffee place, it is surprising that cruelty to animals can be considered art and that the staff would allow it to be shown. I'd thought that this place appealed to the more progressively minded, but personally won't be viewing dead animal fur with my morning coffee any time soon.

33Third.com is really good to buy paint, better then oinkartltd.com but oink has a faster shipping process then 33third, 33third has a really really bad shipping process and the shipping is more expensive then oink.

LAGuy wrote about Shine Gallery - Farmers Market

I am crazy about Shine Gallery. They are the best kept secret in Los Angeles. Apparently they have had this retail store in the Farmers Market for a couple of years, but I only first found about it this month. It is incredible. Their entire inventory is unused vintage items they get from old factories or warehouses. The place is eclectic and eccentric, but wonderful. I really have never seen another store quite like it. They also have a web site: www.shinegallery.com. I would have to say it is my favorite vintage store in Los Angeles.

sharmakmeena wrote about Aaina Designer Clothing

Yes, I agree with the other review. This guy did the same thing to me. We ordered 3 dresses and gave a deposit. He disappeared, we never got the dresses. He claimed that they were coming overnight mail everyday some shipping mistake, but the dresses never came. He said that the people making them in INDIA messed up on the fabric, color, etc. Regardless he offered a refund but gave us a bad check. Till this day we have not received the $1000 we gave him. Had to track him down months later and he exclaimed he owed us no money. I hope everyone is aware in Artesia that Sanjay, his staff, and Aaina products are not good people. I can't believe he does this to people.

I just found a great place to get my nails done - The Nail Bar in Hermosa Beach. They offer free beer and wine with their services and the best thing about this place is they are really clean! The ladies there are great and the services are wonderful. I had a margarita pedicure that was awesome.
