The first official day of the 2008 Sundance film festival has come and gone. And hopefully it was not a harbinger of things to come.

For this Sundance virgin, day one was all about trying to navigate the fest's tricky shuttle system (at least you can't beat the price—it's free) and finding ways to keep warm in below freezing temperatures.

For others, the day involved a screening of opening night selection, "In Bruges," a crime drama starring Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Ralph Fiennes. It opens in limited release beginning Feb. 9. But the buzz from here was rather tepid.

Oh yeah, my first official celebrity sighting? Former "Amazing Race" winner and Lance Bass ex Reichen Lehmkuhl, making calls and dressed in smart skiwear on the Sundance shuttle.

Things can only get better from here, right?
