"Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire"

Haven't heard of "Precious" yet? You will. Already the winner of audience prizes at both Sundance and Toronto film festivals, the movie also played Cannes and has been building Oscar buzz all year long.

"Precious" boasts one of the most bizarre big screen pedigrees in some time: from the eclectic cast (including newcomer star Gabby Sidibe, comedienne Mo'Nique in a powerful Oscar-worthy dramatic turn, and a make-up free Mariah Carey) to the big name executive producers (both Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey stepped up to help the film find a broad audience after it premiered at Sundance). But the raw dramatic force of its story will knock you off your feet.

It opens in L.A. on Nov. 6, but you'll want to see it early.
