"Ocean's Thirteen" (2007)
The movie: The third and latest installment in the breezy, star-packed "Ocean's" series finds George Clooney, Brad Pitt and their crafty cohorts rigging a lush Vegas casino so that all of its games pay out.
Game of choice: Everything on the casino floor—after all, everyone's a winner!!
Winning or losing hand?: Gamblers believe in second chances, and this film, written by the "Rounders" team of David Levien and Brian Koppelman (and also starring Damon), makes it hard to dispute that philosophy. The enjoyably intricate plot capitalizes on the irresistible fantasy of winning it all in Vegas, and Steven Soderbergh visualizes the shuttling of poker chips and clacking of dice with colorful pizzazz. Its $117 million box office payday wasn’t bad for an adult-skewing entertainment.
