"The Goonies 2: Never Say Die"
Original: Surreal escapades of a rag-tag gang of adolescents who battle a crime family, liberate a grotesquely disfigured child and discover hidden pirate treasure.
The sequel: Second-gen Goonie Brandy Walsh (Taylor Momsen of “Gossip Girl”) and her pals The Sad Fat Kid, The Asthmatic Kid, The Not-as-Cute-as-the-Other Girl Girl and Data Jr. (all played by newcomers), stumble upon a terrorist plot. When the New Goonies are captured by baddies, Data Jr. uses his iPhone to send a cryptic S.O.S. text message to his father…
It's up to the old-school Goonies—Data Sr. (Jonathan Ke Quan), Brandy's parents (Josh Brolin and Kerri Green), Uncle Mikey (Sean Astin), lesbian bookstore owner Stef (Martha Plimpton) and recovering meth addict Mouth (Corey Feldman)—to save the kids and stop the terrorists. There won't be a dry eye in the theater when heterosexual life partners Chunk (Jeff Cohen) and Sloth (Dawyne “The Rock” Johnson, stepping in for the deceased John Matuszak) reunite after more than a decade apart, during which Sloth found success as a pro wrestler.
