“50 First Dates” (2004)

The story: Adam Sandler stars as a veterinarian who falls for a woman (Drew Barrymore) suffering from short-term memory loss.
Bromance rating: 5. Sandler gets to be his abrasive, frat-boy self, but in a cutesy romance with a tear-jerking ending. Sure sounds like the ideal testosterone/estrogen balance.
Was it successful?: Like a studio executive's dream come true, "50 First Dates" offers walrus-vomit gags and Rob Schneider shenanigans for the guys and a sweet, sincere love-against-impossible-odds story for the girls. That led to a massive Valentine's Day weekend opening and an eventual gross of around $120 million. The only moviegoers not satisfied, apparently, were those who believe Sandler is the Antichrist.
