The robots: “fix-its”
The program: A group of elderly residents (including Jessica Tandy) in a soon-to-be demolished East Village apartment building are visited by cheeseburger-sized flying space robots who fix up the place, robo-birth a bunch more bots, and build a café that probably became a T.G.I. Friday’s in the '90s.
The result: Apparently old people who can’t figure out how to program their VCRs (that’s a Video Cassette Recorder to those born after "Back to the Future") have no problem coping with interstellar robots…to the delight of '80s nostalgia fans everywhere.
