1. "The Terminator" (1984)
The robot: T-800
The program: A leather wearing cyborg with an Austrian accent (Arnold Schwarzenegger) from a post-apocalyptic robot ruled Los Angeles travels through time to kill the pink scooter-riding mother of a future resistance leader.
The result: The original movie in the ultimate robot franchise harkens back to a time when robots were actually robots, not sissy computer generated graphics. Not to mention it's a showcase Arnold at what he does best: un-emotive acting and monosyllabic words. Much more convincing than his work as a Governator.

I question the order, but having not seen a few of these films, it's a fight I'm not willing to pick. I will say you give an excellent plot summar...
