The robots: David, Gigolo Joe, Teddy

The program: In an Al Gore-ian future, where global warming floods the world, robots come in many different models, including pleasurebot Gigolo Joe (Jude Law) and synthetic child David (Haley Joel Osment). David learns a valuable lesson about humans and their dislike of creepy child actors.

The result: Directed by Steven Spielberg and based on an idea by Stanley Kubrick, the film received mixed reactions from audiences and critics. But David's freakishly real robot bear, Teddy, was an undisputed all-star.
