'Public Enemies' review
By 1933 the Depression was in full swing, and bank robber John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) was something of a celebrity. (Note: The previous sentence s...

Lame script? Why don't you go into your time machine back to the early thirties, befriend Dillinger and his gang and make a better script for us. You know, tell him what to do and what not to do(play director/coach)because people will want much more in a movie about him than just the facts 75 years later. Ebert, you've heard of him right? A REAL movie critic, gave it 3 1/2 out of 4 stars. Most of your reviews I've seen are laughable. How does one apply for your job?

I cannot wait to see this film and have been in love w/ Johnny Depp since A nightmare on Elm Street part one. I must see this film for myself. Johnny Depp is such an amazing actor and I KNOW he would not pick a lame script. I am sure that Dillinger is an awesome character and I am eager to learn more about his story.

I am surprised at how many reviewers are not into this movie, still going to check it out though. I love Stephen Graham who plays Baby Face Nelson.

I caught a screening of Public Enemies at AMC Parkway Pointe last night and, though the critics are slaughtering it and my brother thought it was only alright, I liked it. It was very stylized. Since I have to admit that I don't know much about Dillinger, maybe it was easier to please me. I just love the way this film was shot. Oh some Atlanta tidbit, Stephen Dorff who plays Homer Van Meter in the film was born here in Atlanta. He's kind of hot. Maybe he comes back. We will have to find out. Oh you know him when you see a pic. He's been in a gang of stuff. I usually dread evening screenings because of the promo thing that they have to do but 99X/Comcast had fun trivia and the crowd was really into it. I liked watching it at AMC Parkway but I know Atlantic Station is probably the most popular spot. Oh CalGal, thanks for that tidbit, that scene really seemed like a creative license scene but it's super cool it's true. If you don't expect super bang, bang, you’ll like this flick.

Hmm-a movie based on fact(but with some dramatic license of course)---shows a true scene where people in movie theaters were shown newsreels of Dillinger & told to check the people around them---this actually happened with Dillinger sitting in the audience. What would you have Dillinger do--run out of the theater? You might want to read the book Public Enemies.....I can't wait to see this film.
