LACMA has claimed the position as L.A.'s center for art. Most of the traveling shows that come through town stop here. Located next to those sad, sad Tar Pit mammoths, LACMA can be taken in over a series of visits or through a day's worth of full-immersion. Okay, we're kidding, the full-immersion thing would take more than one day--but we're completists. In addition to hosting the widest available selection of works from multiple periods, the museum also hosts the Late Night at LACMA event, which brings the kids in from all over: lots of music, DJ action, and beverage consumin' to be had. All in all--a well-rounded experience for sure.
