Moby, that quietly enigmatic spokesperson for American electronic music (as well as a few other things), is more than just a guy you’ve seen wax eloquently about pop culture on VH1 or be immortalized in song by Eminem. He’s done everything from playing the Olympics to being the first person to license an entire album (his breakthrough release, “Play”) to sampling both Tones on Tail and the theme music from “Twin Peaks” for his eternal dance-floor anthem, “Go.” This fellow has range. He’s also no slouch on the turntables, having manned the decks at many an illicit rave back in the day, when he wasn’t busy making tracks with Gwen Stefani or opening tea houses in his hometown of New York City.

Mr. Moby will be showing off those DJ skills at a very exclusive DJ gig at the penthouse club Elevate, which is currently a Metromix favorite. Presented by our pal Franki Chan and his I Heart Comix crew and the party people of Giant, an extremely limited number of tickets will be available through the websites of both entities starting on Thursday, November 8. The good thing is that they’re priced at a most reasonable $20; the bad thing is that they’ll probably disappear in seconds. No, make that definitely. Moby is a pimp like that.
