What’s their sound?
Epic indie rock that pushes the “Silverlake sound” into anthemic territory—even though they’re from Fresno.

What the hell does that mean?
It’s somewhere between Pavement and a sugar-free Pixies. Think big, grandiose arrangements that would impress the Arcade Fire (“If U Got Some Magic”) next to intimate, slow-burning mediations such as “Not My Home,” which wonders, “What if we all drove sports cars and lived in amusement parks / and we always did right and we never did wrong / if every song was only three minutes long?” Good question, y’all. Cue up "What Yr Used to Back at Home" and hear it all come together into one glorious celebration.

Is their game tight?

We have the utmost respect for bands unafraid to work, and Rademacher have been earning all kinds of cred with their never-ending tour schedule and recording output. They have three self-released EPs under their collective belt, followed by “Stunts,” the band’s first full-length, which dropped last year. 2007 also saw the band set up “blog residencies” at a handful of L.A. websites, where they first leaked songs from “Stunts” for public consumption.

X-factor:
Fresno’s other celebrities? Try Kevin Federline and the original inspiration for the Sun-Maid raisins girl, Lorraine Collett Petersen.
