Fronted by highly influential and controversial guitarist J Mascis (Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain was a fan), early alt-rockers Dinosaur Jr. have had their share of lineup troubles and breakups over the years. But for this tour, the original trio remains reunited: Mascis out front, Lou Barlow on bass (he also found success with side project Sebadoh) and Murph on drums. The group’s 2007 “comeback” album was solid, and their latest LP, “Farm,” finds the band getting back to a heavier and appropriately more “group-like” sound.
