Atmosphere releases free album online
Our favorite band of Minnesota hip-hoppers, Atmosphere have been taking their sweet time putting together a follow-up to their last full-length, “You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having,” which dropped way back in Oct. 2005. So while they put the finishing touches on the tentatively titled “When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Sh*t Gold,” they’ve been kind enough to tide fans over with a new 13-track release, “Strictly Leakage,” free on the website of their label, Rhymesayers Entertainment. It’s loaded with a gang of funky beats courtesy of producer Ant, with rapper Slug slinging a pocketful of party rhymes (like the hilarious grocery-store-mack anthem “Domestic Dog”). As Slug himself puts it, the collection is “great for first dates, crappy house parties or to play in the background while you Google yourself again.”
