Mental hip-hop: the Coachella edition
The Verve: Reunited, and it feels so good...

Fans of post-Brit-pop legends (and Friday Coachella headliners) the Verve will be excited to know that the band is not just riding the nostalgia train.
“We said that if we reunited, we were going to do it the right way,” Verve bassist Simon Jones told us over the phone recently. “We went straight into a studio without a producer and just started playing and recording. We immediately picked up where we left off, and I can honestly say that the new album is among the best things we’ve ever done.”
Eager to play Coachella, Jones is confident his band will rock the desert. “We have the songs, you know?” he says, spilling that a handful of new tunes will be debuted Friday among the classics. “I still get chills when I hear ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ on the radio. So even if people out there don’t know our stuff, they’re gonna walk away damn-well impressed.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves…
