Owner says, "give them small portions"

I've tried. Repeatedly. I am sorry. I just can't anymore. I admit it: their pain aux raisins harken back to those I enjoyed in Paris, and their almond croissants (I mean butter bars)are really yummy. Really. But, have you ever tried to eat there during lunch? 1. You can't unless you are comfortable spending 2 hours at a bread bar. 2. You can't unless you have $17 to spend on a sandwich. 3. You can't, unless you are willing to leave dissatisfied and hungry. 4. You can't unless you can tolerate waitresses with blood dripping, yes, dripping from her serving finger.

Last week, I tried (for the last time) to grab a lunch there. This time, I thought, how bad could it be if I get it to go? Why do people like me set themselves up for disappointment?
Well, I ordered the tuna sandwich. Dry as a bone. Sour. Yes. Sour. All around bad. $17 to boot.

My friend ordered half soup and salad. Half what, a tablespoon? Really, the portions were so small ($13) that she finished her soup in 4 bites, and the salad was a mere garnish.

She called to complain, and was told "the owner said to make the portions this small."

Breadbar is not worth it, they take too long, and with that kind of attitude from the owner, I say, "make their patronage small."
