Cereal ! All day !

I would eat cereal for every meal if that wasn't incredibly disgusting. Unfortunately, it kind of is. Anyway- Flake seems to have some kind of inherent understanding of me and my 24/7 craving for all things cereal. You mean to tell me that not only do they have an expansive 'cereal bar' but that it's okay, even encouraged, to eat it well into the evening?! Wow. The irony is, on my first visit- i opted for a breakfast sandwich. Inexcusable I know, but something about needing protein in my diet every once n' a while, I guess. The egg, bagel creation I did have was delicious so I can't say I have any regrets. Anyway.. I will most definitely be back and I will most definitely be sampling from their wide selection of cereals, fruits, granolas and so on. This could very well turn into a weekly tradition..

Random...but adorable!

So, I went into Flake on Sunday. For a few weeks, I have been making a list of places to go check out in the Venice/Santa Monica area. So, with my special man friend on my arm, we took an adventure to Flake. When we first drove up, it didn't look like much. It's on Rose (you'd pass it if you don't pay attention) in an area that doesn't really have anything going on. There were some colorful characters around (to say the least!) However, once we got inside, there was something very warm and comforting about the place. The 2 girls who were working that day were sooo nice!!! I have always been one of those people who thought ordering cereal at a restaurant was just stupid. The grown up in me felt I should order something smart; like an english muffin with peanut butter. I got the cereal! Lucky Charms AND Cap'n Crunch. They came out in colorful, cute, little bowls. Our waitress was sweet and really easy to talk to. It's not a big place. However, for the prices and location, it's walking distance and GOOD! I will definitely be back. It's kinda silly to get cereal...but when you want to let your inner kid out and not have to worry about your Lucky Charms going stale, flake it the way to go!!
