Head to the hills for your American and Tex-Mex food fix. Hill Street Cafe is a nifty little restaurant hidden amongst trees alongside Foothill Blvd. in sylvan La Canada. The eatery is a great indie alternative to Denny's or Coco's. Same type of food and service, but these menu items aren't concocted by corporate. They've mixed up the classic Americana diner fare with Tex-Mex (chorizo in terms of dining fare as well as taquitos or appetizers). But the best way to go is a strong cuppa and some bacon and eggs.
