La Casa Blue wants to be everything: café, bar, gallery, music venue, comedy joint. After months of struggle to get the proper licensing, it's almost there. Every wall is infused with so much cheery color, you'd never suspect a couple years earlier the space was a rumored crack house. On weekday afternoons, it's still emptier than the new owners would like. But with a nightly calendar of events and the growing popularity of the area, that should all change faster than you can say "York-yuppification."
