We are a mid 30's couple with kids who live in Hermosa Beach and are not ones to go out to the pier ave/hermosa ave restaurants. We think they're for the younger generation. However, a week ago we decided to try out The Shore on Hermosa Ave, and to our surprise we weren't disappointed. The first thing you'll notice when you enter The Shore is the beautiful decor, especially the stunning chandelier. Even though it was beautiful it looked like a place for the seen and to be seen and I was very skeptical. We were seated by a very pleasant hostess who sat us in their very comfortable white couches. Our waiter came promptly and took our drink order and was very nice. I'll stop boring you with every detail, but we were so impressed with The Shore it's hard not to. So we ordered the Poki and Crab Cakes as starters. I hate sushi, but my wife Lynn, loves it, so being the good husband I tried the Poki. Well, I loved it which is beyond surprising. I'm not sure what a perfect Poki tastes like, but coming from someone who hates raw fish, it was amazing. The Crab Cakes too were very delicious. For our entree's we had the sea bass and the chimichuri skirt stead and, well, they were outstanding. I'm becoming wordy, I know, but this place was first class all the way. We'll coming back and bring our friends for sure.
