Note: even though most of the food is mediocre, and it's the kind of counter service you get at the 24hr Wallgreens, tip is automatically added to your subtotal. You can ask at the check out counter to not be obligated to pay this 'tip' or you can tip another amount worthy of the service you've received.

The cook at the grill station was highly unprofessional. Served others behind me who has same orders, gave me nasty looks and referred me to another employee to "deal with me" all because I asked for ketchup to be refilled. I waited 20 minutes for no food during my lunch hour from work because I was sooo upset and cancelled my order.

I have been to this restaurant several times and the waitstaff has been consistently friendly. I have several family members who like to dine out but all have very different taste, not to mention children. It is a great place to go where everyone can get something they want with out the hassle of splitting the bill 5 ways. The prices and service charge I feel are accceptable compare to what you would pay at any other restaurant nearby. Great spot for family to dine children love the atmosphere and parents get a break from choosing from a small kids menu
Report This ReviewFood Life is a great place to stop and eat while doing a little power shopping. It's a great variety of foods and you can get just about anything to appease your appetite.
HOWEVER, BEWARE -- When they ring up your purchase and you use a credit card their cash registers print out your entire credit card number with the expiration date!
I am posting this because it needs to be communicated to management that during this time and age of identity theft - this should not be a standard practice for them.
Thanks!
Report This ReviewThis place is my most favorite place in the city! Everytime my family or friends from Cali come visit, I take them here for lunch!
I love it!! EVERYTHING IS GREAT! You can never go wrong! It is fun and loud and everyone can get what they want from Asian to Mexican to BBQ to Health Food! 10 STARS!!
To everyone who complained about the atmosphere: get over it. If you want a nice quiet meal, go to a $50-a-plate restaurant. (Bring your master's degree with, I'm sure the wait staff will be impressed.) For those of you who want good food and a huge variety of choices, this is the place. Anywhere you can get a burrito, jambalaya, and chocolate cake all in one meal is my kind of joint. I found the prices to be reasonable and the staff at all three stations I went to were extremely courteous, so I'm not sure what the service complaints are about.
Report This ReviewThe best way to describe this place is to call it an upscaled food court. Each time I go, I try something new and I'm never disappointed in the quality.
Some may complain about the service charge, but I don't mind it at all. It's split among the servers and the cooks, so all employees are taken care of.
My friends and I will continue coming here while on our shopping trips on the Mag Mile.
Report This ReviewI am not sure why Food Life is listed as a vegetarian Establishment. Most of the kiosks serve Meat or fish based meals. You have to really look to find something that is vegetarian. If you are looking for a good vegtarian meal, this isn't the first place to look.
Report This Reviewa 7.5% service charge is added to your bill! While the choices and quality are okay, the prices do not justify the goods and service. Walk a couple blocks over to Rush St. to get better value.
