At your service: Drive-thru at Orean the Health Express
Breakfast bell: Daily 9:30 a.m. Breakfast menu available until noon (except the breakfast burrito, which is available until 9 p.m. close).
Meal on wheels: Like its artery-clogging counterpart, the go-to breakfast item on this all-vegan menu is the “Soysage-o-Muffin,” a tasty concoction of “soysage,” soy cheese, and scrambled “eggs” on a whole wheat English muffin. If you insist on your morning potato fix, try the air fries, cooked to a crisp in hot air, not oil. Wash everything down with the most unique beverage item on our survey: the Super Green Drink is indeed a super-scary green concoction of kamut, alfalfa, barley grass, spirulina, green tea leaf, chlorella, Siberian ginseng, acerola juice, blue green algae and ginko.
Driving tip: Located next door to McDonald’s and Burger King and across the street from KFC, Carl’s Jr., and the Green Burrito, Orean is an island of health in a sea of transfat. The food may take a little longer to get out than at the standard drive-thru, but it also promises not to stick to you like the others.
