Breakfast on the go

With gas prices giving gold bouillon a run for its money and the embargo on convos-on-the-go, driving has gotten so uncool. Unfortunately, we still gotta do it. How else to get our daily allowance of road rage before our morning meeting with the boss?

Motorist guilt is one thing, but we still won’t step out of the car for just anything, let alone the most important (we’re told) meal of the day. Breakfast lines and the extraordinary lack of parking being what they are, it’s no wonder those unwholesome drive-through meals appeal. And yet, a better sense of taste—and concern for our collective health—has us on the hunt for alternatives. Good thing, too: Juggling a breakfast sandwich and a lane change now give our hands-free hands something better to do. (We kid, we kid.)

At your service: Curbside pickup at Patrick’s Roadhouse.

Breakfast bell: Weekdays 7 a.m. and weekends 8 a.m. Breakfast menu available until 3 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. weekends.

Meal on wheels: Consider the subversive Eggs McKarageorgevitch—egg, jack cheese, and Canadian bacon on an English muffin—or the vegetarian version, Eggs Florentinovitch, with egg, jack cheese, spinach, and sautéed mushrooms. Patrick's coffee mocha special makes the morning commute all the sweeter and chocolatey-er.

Driving tip: Order 10 minutes in advance, then pull right up in front of the restaurant and call to announce your arrival.  Someone will be out to your car to deliver the food and collect your payment (credit cards accepted, but not over the phone).
