The O! stands for "organic!"

The cash
The classic O! burger (4 ounces) is $7.99.

The beef
While both burgers are organic, O! Burger goes a bit further to appease health fanatics. Its grass-fed beef boasts omega-3s, CLA (a supposed cancer fighter), vitamins A and D, and antioxidants. But just ’cause it’s good for you doesn’t mean the taste suffers: We found it to be juicy, clean-tasting beef with a slight kiss of oil.

The bun
O! Burger’s bun is fluffy, smooshable whole-wheat bread with toasty edges and a nutty flavor. Unfortunately, it gets soggy quickly.

The sauce
The O! Burger comes with vegan Thousand Island dressing; it’s a nice approximation of the original, but the zing doesn’t last. Vegan chipotle and barbecue sauces are also available and can be sampled free of charge.

The accompaniments
The composed O! Burger is a tasty package of napa cabbage, grilled onions (sweet, soft, not at all burned), tomatoes, sweet pickles, and the aforementioned sauce.

The sides
We were impressed with O! Burger’s side of grilled veggies ($3.99): paper-thin slices of zucchini and yellow squash, green beans, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and seasonal vegetables, all very fresh and not at all oily.

The shake
O! Burger offers yogurt shakes with any combination of Aseel date, chocolate and banana. We thought the date version was cloyingly sweet but surprisingly comforting at the same time.

The combo deal
$10.99 buys any O! burger with a 5-ounce side of fries and an iced tea.

The vibe
O! Burger is as perky as a tomato: bright red-orange booths and green walls. It’s an order-at-the-counter kind of joint, but everything is environmentally conscious, from the corn-based serveware to the paint on the walls (AFM lead-free, zero-VOC Safecoat paint).
