Froyo wars: Attack of the Pinkberry clones
First, there was ice cream. Then, there was frozen yogurt. And then, a few years ago, came a new frozen sensation called, um … frozen yogurt.

The original Pinkberry in WeHo reclaimed froyo as L.A.’s frozen dessert of choice. It wasn’t long before the yogurt craze spread throughout the land like creamy, fruity wildfire. The frozen yogurt stands of yore had bizarrely inventive names like "frogen yozurt” and “humphrey's yogart”; now their names—and décor, flavors and toppings—are all variations on a Pinkberry (see: Iceberry, Yogurberry, Kiwiberri).

So how do the Pinkberry clones measure up? Some are very bad [Dietberry], some are very good [Cantaloop] and one is actually called Berri Good [Berri Good]. We sent an intrepid team to compare Pinkberry-wannabee-froyo-joints, and base their findings on relative tartness, price, décor and—just ‘cause we already had them out there—“height of swirl.” (We’re cruel.)

Which Pinkberry knock-off actually ranked better than the real thing? See for yourself…
