The food at many tiki joints is just padding for the rum, but we whole-heartedly enjoy a few of Billy’s takes on tiki classics. The pupu platter is pretty good, and includes some downright delicious crab cakes. The disparate crowd—wannabe MTV reality stars, Don Johnson look-alikes, beach bunnies, salty grandmas in Bedazzled hats—makes for a cheerful vibe. Plus, the servers wear sarongs, and the live band plays all the vacationy standards, including “Tequila.” Embrace it. Love it.
