FOOD: This unfortunately-named restaurant/grocery (finding any info on Google is itself a test of endurance) is much in the same vein as the august, more famous Joan’s on Third—an upscale deli counter with entrees, salads and desserts, as well as a wall full of high-end packaged goodies perfect for the picket line. The relatively new restaurant is also doing its part to caffeinate the picket line by giving free coffee to customers who are members of the WGA.

Factor’s: Factor's has been around for almost 50 years, and it's still buzzing with families and groups of friends meeting for brunch omelettes or corned beef on rye, served with some of the best pickles in the city. The bright dining room has a comfy, if slightly sterile feel, so we suggest getting your bagel and shmear delivered directly to your place of public protest.

Marty’s:  Hamburgers and weiners share the same bun at this local stand-by. The specialty of the house? The Combo Burger, a grilled hamburger with a sliced hot dog on one bun and seasoned fries on the side that's guaranteed to get your mind off your neverending spec-script revisions for at least another half hour.
